Tarabeeh eight rak'ats or twenty rak'ats?
There are differences of opinion among many regarding the number of rak'ahs in Tarabi's prayers in Ramadan. At present, there are some scholars and ordinary Muslim brothers who are trying unsuccessfully to prove that the number of rak'ahs of Tarabi is online and offline. As a result of the ongoing smokescreen with Tarabeeh and its number of rak'ats, simple-minded Muslims are being persuaded to read 8 rak'ats instead of 20 rak'ats, the evils of which have spread through confusion. Again, some are mocking the previous scholars, whether it is because of them or this state of Islam. Above all a delicate situation.
During the time of Hazrat Umar, the beloved Caliph of the Prophet (peace be upon him), all the Companions agreed on the Tarawih prayer being twenty rak'ats. Since then, Tarabi's prayers have been recited twenty rak'ats all over the world. The mujtahid imams have also been acting unanimously on this issue for 1400 years.
